Daily Devotional from The Way Bible Church for September 18th, 2019

People are extremists. Meaning, that they recognize things when they are bad or good, but 90% of life is lived in the middle. Most of your life is not the start or the ending but ride from the starting point to the Promise. You see, the paralytic in today’s text probably spent more time being carried from where He was found to the feet of the One who could heal him. In these seasons, you have to make a choice as to how you’re going conduct yourself. The Bible doesn’t say, but this man could have chosen to be angry and upset that these people were dragging Him somewhere He didn’t ask to go, or He could have made the choice to be quiet and wait in joyful anticipation what was in store for Him. Between the excitement of getting started on the journey and elation of reaching the end, you have the option on being joyful or impatient, anxious or anticipatory. So what is the one thing you need God to touch? Everybody has an area or issue that pops into their mind when asked this question…the one thing you would change immediately if you could. Take whatever it may be and present it to the Lord. This is the starting point of your journey toward the promise. Along they way, you will have to choose whether or not to enjoy the journey. Allow your joy and hope to fuel your faith as you move closer to obtaining what you desire.
