Genesis 41:14-16
14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they quickly brought him out of the pit. And when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh. 15 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” 16 Joseph answered Pharaoh, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”

Have you ever noticed the irony in this account of Joseph? Joseph was in the situation he was in because he shared his God-given dream with his brothers several years prior. Now, thirteen years later, there He was standing in front the most powerful man on earth being asked to interpret a dream. In that very moment, Joseph had a choice to make. He could allow the past thirteen years of enslavement, false accusations, and imprisonment keep him from interpreting Pharaoh’s dream or he could choose to let go of all the hurt and betrayal and interpret it. It would have been easy to say, “Well! My dream never happened so there’s no way I’m gonna help this guy figure out his!” Looking at it from this side it’s easy to see that Joseph was just ‘a few sentences away’ from being promoted. But in that moment, what would you have done? Would you have chosen to be the answer to someone else’s dream in spite of the fact that you hadn’t received your’s yet? He was one choice away from freedom, one moment from release. His entire life’s path was hanging in the balance. What if the the key to your dream coming to pass lies in you being the answer to someone else’s dream? You may feel like everyone around you is getting everything they ever dreamed of while you’re still playing the waiting game. Choosing to be answer to someone’s prayer will enable the Lord to bring you the answer to your’s. God doesn’t have favorites, He simply rewards faith. The next time you’re given an opportunity to assist someone with their dream, do it! In spite of whether or not you are still waiting on yours. If you give God something to bless He is always faithful to do just that. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
