Luke 10:42
“Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

The laundry, the dishes, the lawn…all of the joys of home ownership and having a family. So many of the things that people seek in order to feel like they’ve obtained success become leaches of time, money and energy. Everyone loves the idea of having a nice home, vehicles, and countless other toys that make life more enjoyable and comfortable. The one thing the most people fail to understand is that along with the financial obligation, there is also an obligation to maintain and provide for all of these things. These things are not bad in and of themselves, but too much temporary ‘stuff’ will keep you from investing time, energy, and resources into eternal things, such as the your spiritual life and the lives of your spouse and children. Some day, when you look back, you’ll not remember whether or not you finished the dishes or folded the clothes but you will remember the moments of laughter with your kids, meaningful conversations with your spouse, or special moments of prayer when the Holy Spirit spoke to you in a powerful way. Those things will last forever. Choosing the right thing in the moment will allow for real life to take place – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
