“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
When people think of being baptized in the Holy Spirit many of their minds run wild with thoughts and images of people doing all sorts of crazy things. Instead of going to YouTube, FaceBook, or some other secular media outlet to find out what it means to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, all you need to do is ask Him. He is your source of all knowledge when it comes to the things of God. Nowhere in the Gospels is Jesus or those He’s ministering to portrayed doing some of the things that you see broadcasted. The baptism into Him is the gift that Jesus said the Father wants to give you. His main purpose is to empower you to live the same sin free and grace filled life that Jesus did. He is gentle, loving and patient. He will never forcefully violate your will or cause you to do something that would publicly shame or embarrass you. He simply wants you to experience the fullness of what it means to be one with God. In a day and age where who God truly is is becoming less and less known, you need everything that He has to offer. If you’re born again, He already resides in you, receiving His baptism simply means that your allowing Him not just be in you but to be upon you as well. If you’re hungry for more of Him, wanting greater knowledge of the Word, seeking wisdom, or are lacking power in any area of your life, its time you allowed Jesus to baptize you with His Spirit. Put your faith in Him, don’t worry about what society or social media has to say. If you can trust Him with your eternal life, shouldn’t you be able to trust Him with your life here on the earth? Step into all He has for you today. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! We are two days away! This Sunday, August 25th at 10am, is Super Sunday at TWBC. We will gather for one amazing worship service at the Sulphur Springs High School Auditorium followed by a time of food, fun and games, and lots of fellowship. This is the one time each year that we can all gather in one service and see everyone all together at one time. You don’t want to miss what God is going to do as we celebrate 20 years of ministry and launch into the next 20. We look forward to seeing you there.
