Philippians 4:11-12
11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.

If you’re going to experience true contentment in life, you must be careful not to fall into the trap of comparison. It’s easy to get your eyes on someone else who is in a different season that your are and become envious or insecure. While you are in a season of fruitfulness, someone else may be in a quieter season of preparation. The thing to remember is that seasons change. Soon, you may move in the quiet season while someone else moves into their season to produce. Comparing yourself to someone in a different season is quite literally comparing apples to oranges. Think about this, if everyone went through the the same seasons at the same time what would happen to the Body of Christ. It would mean that there would be times when the church was virtually non-existent. This is why God, in all of His goodness and wisdom, allows people to be in different seasons at different times. While you’re in season of fruitfulness, you can encourage those who are in a different season. How much more effective would this be than comparing and competing with one another? Finding contentment is easy when you realize that your competing with those around you, not against them. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
