A 23 year old Arkansas man was arrested on Saturday night after leading a Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office deputy on a high speed chase.

The deputy attempted to pull over a Ford Mustang on Highway 154 S driven by 23 year old Dillon Curtis Derry. Derry accelerated to speeds over 100 miles per hour on Highway 154 when trying to evade the traffic stop. He then attempted to elude officers by turning onto County Road 1196 and then onto County Road 1730.

Derry stopped his vehicle at a residence on CR 1730 and attempted to flee into a pasture. The HSCO deputy issued verbal commands to stop and get on the ground to which Derry complied. He was secured and placed under arrest.

After reviewing dash cam footage, the female passenger in the vehicle was seen removing a 4 year old child and an infant from the vehicle. Derry was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention, two counts of Endangering a Child, and multiple traffic violations. He is held at Hopkins County Jail on bonds totaling $25,000.
