Daily Devotional from The Way Bible Church for August 2nd, 2019

Preparation time is never wasted time. As you wait upon the promises of the Lord to come to pass in your life you must understand that while you’re waiting, you’re also being equipped. He is in the process of growing and changing you into who He has designed you to ultimately become. He loves you too much to allow even a good thing to overwhelm crush you. When He spoke that promise into your spirit He did so with the expectancy that you would continue in Him until you were ready to receive it. In many cases, however, upon hearing the promise people tend get all excited about what they’ve heard and stop pressing into the One who gave the promise in the first place. The promise was never meant to be a stopping point, it was meant to be an addition to who He created you to be. ‘Star gazing’ tends to be common issue among believers. It’s easy to get caught up focussing on what was spoken or promised rather than Giver of the promise. No matter what you hear or don’t hear, see or don’t see, feel or don’t feel, your eyes must remain on Him. He will bring you from His speaking to your receiving if you’ll be faithful to remain in the equipping process. The path He has laid out for you to walk with Him is full of blessings and promises. You’ll receive them as long as you keeping walking and not allow yourself to be distracted by the scenery. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
