August 2-7: Coleman Park – Dixie Softball World Series
August 3: Back to School Burger Bash Sponsored by Tableleaf and Sulphur Springs Dodge
On August 3rd, Tableleaf & Sulphur Springs Dodge are hosting the First Annual Back To School Burger Bash at Backstory Brewery to raise money for school supplies for local children. Below are the highlights for the event.
20 cook teams will be facing off in an Appetizer & Burger Battle for the grand prizes from 5-8pm.
SS Dodge will be featuring RAM truck test drives from 11-5pm. Anyone who test drives a truck will receive free entry into the event, and SS Dodge will donate $20 in school supplies for every test drive. SSISD Employees who test drive a RAM will receive a coupon for a free jean day!
Dubb & The Love Machines will perform inside the brewery around 8:30 following awards and giveaway announcements.
Tickets for entry are $20 for adults and children 18 & under are free. Monetary Donations are welcome!! Tastings are while supplies lasts.
August 3: TexiFied JamFest Unplugged at Heritage Park
This year, Texafied JamFest is donating profits to Be The Match, a national bone marrow donor registry, because one of our own, Michael B. Moore is desperate for a match in his battle with stage 4 lymphoma. This event on August 3rd will give them a head start for the big event in October!
Steve Everett (a Texafied JamFest artist and frequent visitor to Sulphur Springs for house concerts) will play an acoustic set, supported by local favorite Jeb Brooks, who will kick things off at 6:30. Buy tickets, bring your checkbook, and join in for food, drinks, and fabulous music – all for a great cause!

August 9-11: The Little Mermaid – visit Hopkins County Civic Center For Tickets (opens a new browser window)
Come join Shining Star Productions as they journey Under the Sea for The Little Mermaid!
August 10 – Muddy Jakes – Back to School Cornhole Tournament
Muddy Jake’s will be hosting a back to school cornhole tournament that will help donate backpacks to local kids/families in need!
$30 entry per team, PLUS one backpack with a school supply for pre-register.
$40 per team plus the backpack if registered day of.
1st place- $400 2nd place- 2 RTIC coolers, 3rd place- 2 $50 MJ’s gift cards
