Luke 19:5-6
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully.

Isn’t it blessing to know that even when you find yourself in a place that you really don’t belong that Jesus is still seeking to call you back to a place of rest in Himself. After an eventful day of trying to prove himself by his own ability, Zacchaeus, found himself up a tree trying to out do those around him. Then, Jesus, with his heart of mercy, looked past all of Zacchaeus’ junk and called him down. He showed him the love and kindness that those he lived with day to day had refused him. The Passion Translation says it like this, ‘So he scurried down the tree and came face-to-face with Jesus’. What a beautiful picture. A man who had dealt with inferiority issues has a face-to-face encounter with the Lord of Lords that would alter the course of his life forever. Are you stuck ‘up a tree’ in your life? Do you feel like your mess is keeping you from the Messiah? It doesn’t matter who or what you have against you right now, or where you find yourself. He is reaching out through the issues of inferiority, unforgiveness, hurt, loss or pain because He wants to have a face-to-face encounter with you. He wants to spend time in those areas that you have made your home and clean them up. He is not ashamed of you, He wants to be your friend and brother. Stop trying to prove to Him and others what He already knows about you…that you’re valuable, loved, needed, and wanted. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
