14 The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, 15 for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever.
One of the greatest challenges that you’ll encounter in life is living in the now while also living in the vision that God has shown you for what could be many years down the road. This is where Abram found himself. Even though he was in the process of walking in obedience to what God had told him, that original call was becoming a box that was limiting him. What had started out as obedience had now become a hinderance to what he was supposed to become. The model Abram was working from didn’t fit where he was going, even though he was doing what the Lord had instructed him to do. God was wanting to show him more. What had worked in the past had become obsolete. It was meant to be the foundation not the ceiling. The life of obedience is a continual obedience, not one and done obedience. Your walk with the Lord is not about accomplishing task after task, it is about a working relationship with the One who knows the beginning from the end and who has His hand upon you in both. You, like many other others, may find yourself wondering if where your at is all He has for you. This can be a scary or comforting thought, depending on how your life is going at the moment. Which ever scenario you find yourself in, you can rest assured that if you’re not living toward something greater, you’re not seeing all that He wants you to see. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
