John 20:19-20
19 On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

Think about what the disciples and those who followed Jesus were doing on that Saturday over 2000 years ago. The church celebrates Good Friday and Easter Sunday but nothing is said about the Saturday in between the two. With their worlds having been completely flipped upside down and fearing that what just happened to Jesus might also happen to them, they undoubtedly weren’t in a good place. As in today’s text, they were hiding and grieving not knowing what they should do next. After all, they had given up everything to follow Jesus and now it appeared that it was all for nothing. You may be in a place like that right now. Maybe life as a Christian hasn’t been as easy as what you were led to believe it would be. Maybe your in a place of grief after the loss of a loved one and don’t even want to think about what tomorrow will bring. If you’re in a place of despair or depression please understand this…tomorrow is coming. If the disciples had just kept faith in Jesus’ words they would not have lost hope. He has never once failed to fulfill any of His promises and those promises apply to you. The resurrected Savior can and will resurrect you from your current place of struggle. He is wanting to bring you a place of new life in Him…hang in there, He always comes through. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
