Luke 5:18-19
18 And behold, some men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, 19 but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus.

At some point in life, everyone goes through seasons or circumstances in which they require the assistance of those around them. If you’ll think back, you will undoubtedly be able to recall a time when the love of others carried you when you could not carry yourself. In today’s scripture text, Luke refers to ‘some men’ who carried a paralyzed man to the place where He could have an encounter with the Savior. Their names are never given and their titles and positions are unknown. But ‘some men’ cared enough to make a way for this man to receive His miracle. They didn’t just get the paralytic to the back of the crowd and drop him, they made sure that Jesus knew the man’s need and had the opportunity to touch him…even though it required some boldness and thinking outside of the box. Just like in Jesus day, the world is full of people who need ‘some men’ or ‘some women’ or ‘some classmates’ or ‘some co-workers’ or ‘some family members’ or ‘some fellow church members’ to help them get to Jesus. The Bible never says that these men received any recognition or applause for what they did, they simply acted upon their love-motivated faith and saw to it this man got to have an encounter with Jesus. Are you willing to be that ‘some one’ to the hurting and lost around you? Who is the Holy Spirit prompting you to reach out to and possibly even carry into His Presence? – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
