Three Sulphur Springs FFA Students Catch Calves at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble

Sulphur Springs FFA members Jace Mayers, Elida Miller and Maurie Flecker caught calves during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo last week. The calf scramblers are awarded a certificate that goes toward the purchase of a steer or beef heifer that they will buy, raise, and exhibit at next years Livestock Show and Rodeo. In addition, the students are to write monthly reports to their donors showcasing what they have done with the animal as well as logging all financial transactions associated with their project into a records system.
