John 2:11
“11 This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.”
Have you ever been at a place in life where the circumstances are overwhelming? We all have been there at some point. Sometimes these circumstances occur just because it is life. Sometimes our decisions get us into these situations. The common reaction is to look at the situation at surface level. “We just want it fixed.” The surface is not the story. If we are only looking at the surface, we will be overcome by the waves of our circumstance. The circumstance is our opportunity to go deeper.
I went on a scuba diving trip one time the waves were massive. Also, the wind was brutal, and the rain was relentless. As I was looking at the circumstances from the surface, I thought the cancelation of the trip was imminent. The dive instructor kept reassuring me that it all changes when dive in and get below the surface. So, we jumped, as we got below the surface everything was clam. As we got into the oceans current viewing this whole new world was effortless. It is the same with Jesus. We can trust him to get us below the surface of our circumstances and into his current.
I want to encourage you today. Some of you are like man in John 2:1-11. It was his wedding and the wine was gone. On the surface, his circumstances were crushing. But Jesus was wanting to go deeper, get past the surface. Jesus not only fixed the circumstances of the wedding, but this was His first miracle. This miracle manifested His glory and was the spark that his disciples needed to believe in him. Jesus is inviting us to go deeper. So, look at your circumstance as a Sign pointing you in the direction of deeper.
