The preliminary total for the 2019 Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show Sale of Champions held today stands at over $405,000 for the second year in a row. The final total will be released after add-on funds that come in through the next week are added. 137 youth from FFA & 4-H chapters all over Hopkins County earned the right to participate in the Sale of Champions. A list of the buyers of the Grand Champions and Reserve Champion projects is below:

 

Grand Champion Steer-Tracey Shackelford: $7400 by Hopkins County Abstract, Dr. Phil Jackson, Legacy Ag Credit, Advantage Copy and Texana Land and Asphalt

Grand Champion Swine-Kindal Shackelford: $4800 by Northeast Texas Farmer’s Co-op and Friends.

Grand Champion Lamb-Annie Horton: $4,000 by Bell Concrete, Cory Burgin, Catocon, Hodge Chevrolet, 5W Contractors, and CNB

Grand Champion Goat-Amy Sprague: $3,600 by Toliver Ford and Texas Farm Credit

Grand Champion Poultry-Karrigan McQuay: $3,900 by Catocon, Texana Land and Asphalt, and City National Bank

Reserve Steer-Canyon Thomas: $5,000 by First Choice Home Health

Reserve Swine-Tate Myers: $1,900 by Carriage House Manor

Reserve Lamb-Wyatt Wharton: $1,600 by Galyean Insurance

Reserve Goat: Dayton Wood: $2,500 by Cumby Telephone

Reserve Poultry: Kase Saucier: $1,600 by Farm County and Vermeer
