11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Have you ever stepped out to do something for God only to have it dismissed or thrown back in your face? Jesus did. Very often, in spite of having the best intentions, doing something that promotes the Kingdom will receive a less than welcoming response. When this occurs, it’s easy to think that you missed it or that for some reason it wasn’t God’s will…but Jesus never missed it and was never out of God’s will. You cannot use people’s response as the measuring stick for your obedience. People will respond out fear, ignorance, and many times jealousy more than they will out of amazement or respect. If Jesus had allowed people’s opinion to determine His obedience then humanity would be in serious trouble and without hope. You are anointed to spread the Gospel, to advance the Kingdom. Don’t let man’s response move you out of obedience. – Love and Blessing, Pastor Jeff
