Miller Grove FFA’s Haley Dyer Wins Calf Scramble San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo

The Calf Scramble was held February 14, 2019 at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

4-H and FFA youth competed for certificates to purchase a breeding animal to show at next year’s San Antonio Stock Show. Throughout the year they complete reports over specific topics such as: animal selection, animal care, nutrition, etc.

Haley Dyer from Sulphur Springs, Texas was one of the many who caught a calf during the calf scramble. Dyer is a member of the Miller Grove FFA Chapter. She plans on purchasing an American heifer with her certificate. Her future plan is to attend Texas A&M University.vDyer’svhobbies include showing cattle, livestock judging and the swine skillathon contest.

 

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo takes place February 7-24, 2019.Established in 1949, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, winner of the PRCA Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year for an unprecedented 14 consecutive times, has grown to be one of the largest and most prestigious single events in the city, with over 2 million visitors entering the grounds each year.
