Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The word redeem, or redemption, is one that is thrown around a lot in religious circles but very few people grasp the fullness it’s meaning. Most believers know that they’ve been redeemed, or made new again, by the love that the Father has shown through His Son’s sacrifice. They understand that they now have access to the Kingdom of Heaven for all eternity because Jesus chose to die for them, but that’s where their knowledge stops. What has been failed to be recognized is that this redemptive love saw value in people even when those people were extremely unworthy of it. You received love from the Father because He chose to focus more on your potential than the state you were in at the time. He died for the you that He saw by looking through your sin and shame. He died for your potential because He placed great value on the redeemed you even through that wasn’t who you were at the moment. This same love is what should be governing your life as a believer. The redemptive love of God should be the lens through which you view humanity. The only way that you’ll choose to reach out to those who haven’t experienced the love of God is by letting His love place a value on them that you otherwise would not. Make a choice to see the world around you through the same love that the Father chose to see you through. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
