Luke 8:11 (The Passion Translation)
“Here, then, is the deeper meaning to my parable: The word of God is the seed that is sown into hearts.
Have you ever stopped to consider the phenomenal power that exists within a seed? A seed, once it’s sown, begins to break out of it’s shell and what’s inside is revealed through what grows. The amazing thing about a seed is that it can be centuries old and still grow once it’s planted. The Word of God is considered a seed. The power it contains will be released when it’s sown. When God speaks to you, whether it be through His written Word or by His Spirit, those Words are sown into your heart and are ready to produce. There is no limit to the potential harvest that His Words can produce in your life. So knowing this, you can determine how much seed you allow Him to sow. The more time you spend in communication with Him, the more opportunity He will have to speak into your life. You can be content with an occasional harvest here and there or you can go after one that is bountiful and beneficial to more than just yourself. The greater your harvest, the more power and reach you’ll have to sow into others. So how much are you harvesting? Are you allowing the Sower to plant His good seed in you heart?
