Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”

Is your joy for the Christmas Season real or artificial.  Just like you have the option of purchasing an actual, planted and grown Christmas tree or an artificial one, many people put on an artificial celebration of what this day represents.  There is an alarming lack of understanding of the meaning of what Christmas truly is.  When is the last time you asked God, “What did You really do on that first Christmas?”  Which will lead you also ask, “What really took place on the cross?”  The Holy Spirit’s purpose in your life is to bring you enlightenment about who He is and what He has done for you.  He has extended you an invitation to reason with Him.  This doesn’t mean that you get to sit down and unload all of your theology and ideas on Him.  But, what it does mean is that you can ask Him anything and He will give you His counsel and understanding.  Think about what an amazing gift that is!  When you apply that kind of privilege to your life, your joy will be built upon your relationship and understanding, not upon the fact that everyone says you should be happy because it’s Jesus’ birthday.  So, set aside some time, get out your Bible and pen, grab a cup of coffee, and have a counseling session with God.  What you experience will bring the pure joy that comes with knowing Him.  Not an artificial joy behind a fake smile. – Merry Christmas!  Pastor Jeff
