Ephesians 2:12-13

12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Out of all of the gifts that you could receive this Christmas, those things you may have your heart set on those that you may return or regift, the greatest and sometimes most overlooked gift is acceptance.  This is what every person is truly looking for.  People want to know that they are wanted, needed and appreciated.  When Jesus shed blood was presented to the Father, God received it as the sufficient sacrifice for the sins of man.  He tore through the veil and could once again allow man to be in His presence.  You see, God didn’t separate Himself from people because He was mad at them or hurt by their rebellion.  He had to.  If He didn’t, sinful man, being in the presence of perfect glory and holiness would have died on the spot.  Sin cannot exist in God’s presence.  God never stopped loving people or wanting them near Him but He didn’t want them to die either.  The blood of Jesus removed the stain of sin that was on man and God could once again express His love to him again face to face.  You are accepted, you are wanted, and you are loved by your Heavenly Father.  He gave His Son just so He could be with you. – Merry Christmas!  Pastor Jeff
