John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Giving is the greatest way to express love. The desire to see someone’s life improved by what you have the ability to add to it by giving from what God has blessed you with. Giving has never been about money. The fact that America is a free market economy put’s a filter on the way most people view generosity. If money was the fix all, then Jesus would not have had to go to the cross. God could have just created enough gold to pay for everyone’s sins. Giving can and will involve money but it will just as often involve your time and effort. It’s easy for many people to throw money at a situation rather than having to inconvenience themselves and sacrifice their schedules. The Father didn’t give out of the vastness of Heaven’s storehouses, He gave the only thing He had just one of…His Son. He gave sacrificially and willingly because He saw the value in the people He created. He wasn’t willing for you to not have the opportunity to choose eternity with Him, whether you chose Him or not. This same love has been placed in you when you were born again. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how your generosity can let those around you see His love for them. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
