I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
What is worship? If you were to ask this question to 100 people sitting in a church service, 95 of them would tell you that it’s going to church, singing a song, or praying on your knees. Sadly enough, for church goers, worship is just that…going to church. If you’ll look at today’s text, you’ll notice that it doesn’t say that you need to present your body on Sunday mornings from 10 to 12 to the Lord. It says to present your body as a living sacrifice. What does this really mean? It means that if you profess Him as your Lord and Savior, as long as you’re alive and dwelling on this earth you should sacrifice your agenda on the altar of worship. This doesn’t mean that you call in to the office and tell them that you are going to stay home that day because you have to spend time worshiping. What it means is that you commit to worship Him by the way that you live your life. Everything that you do shows others that your life is a product of His mercy and grace. Worship is not just a ‘spiritual’, Sunday morning, song singing thing. It is your way of life. It is you loving your Father by loving others and living in a way that glorifies Him. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff.
