Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.
‘As they went on their way’…this transitional phrase is almost always looked at as just that, a phrase to move the reader from one recorded event to the next. But, as a believer, you must come to the place where you understand that every word in the ‘Word’ is God breathed and is there for a purpose. This is only one of many recorded accounts in the Bible where Jesus did something ‘on the way’ to where He was going. The message in this is that He wants you to not take for granted that those people who you bump into as you are going through the grocery store, or getting gas, or a haircut are people who have real needs and need a real touch from a real God. Everyone these days seems to have to be somewhere and be there fast. These obligations, if given too much weight, will cause you miss opportunities to be the hands of God that touch and change someone’s life. As you go from appointments to events to meetings, make it a point to do so with your eyes open to those around you. Just like Jesus did, a quick stop on the way to where you’re going could have an eternal impact on someone’s life. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
