Luke 8:54-56
54 But taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, arise.” 55 And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. 56 And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.

Did you ever wonder why Jesus in this account and several others would tell people not to share about the amazing things that He did for them with other people? While there could have been any myriad of reasons, Jesus made it very clear the He wasn’t into popularity or using people’s personal matters to promote His ministry. He was more concerned with the person than popularity. He didn’t do the amazing things He did out a some deep need for the validation of the applause of an audience. He had a genuine concern for the well being of those He was ministering to, not for the notoriety He might get for the miracles that He performed. As in every other area of life, we can learn a lot from paying attention to the way Jesus conducted His life and ministry. He made it very clear that in God’s eyes character trumps talent, and obedience outweighs gifting. His security was found in being known by God, not by the masses. As you endeavor to be more like Him in your personal life and ministry, always seek to keep your motives and message pure. When He imparts His gifts and anointing into your life remember that they’re given for the benefit of others, not to make a name for yourself. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
