2 Corinthians 10:3
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
As cliche as it has become to say ‘Christians should do their fighting from their knees”, you still see too many believers getting engaged in petty debates and arguments. Even if they’re Biblically correct in their argument, they do more harm than good to both Christianity and to those who may be observing from the outside looking in. While stands do have to be made and healthy discussion is important for the growth of both sides of a disagreement, doing so must be done in love and tolerance. If every discussion was preceded with serious prayer by both parties then Christians would become offensive instead of offending. This is something that those who claim to be believers must start getting right. Instead of being quick to argue and make sure that opinions are heard, Christians should be quick pray and hear from the Holy Spirit. He will never initiate or condone a potentially harmful argument. Truth be told, if pride was taken out of the equation most of these arguments would never take place. Next time you feel the need make your voice heard, wait to do so until you’ve made it heard by the Lord. Let Him decide whether or not you bring it any further. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
