1 Peter 2:4-5
4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
When you read this verse you’ll notice that He calls you a living stone, not a brick. Have you ever stopped to ask why that is? Think about it from a construction standpoint. If you’ve ever watched someone build a brick wall you would see that they don’t pay any attention to which brick they grab to place in the next spot, they don’t have to. Every brick that going into that wall is exactly the size and shape. The mason can quickly and efficiently put them into place. A stone wall, on the other hand, takes takes a lot more time and intentionality. The stone layer has to take each individual stone and fit it into the place alongside the the other stones. This is how your Heavenly Father has placed you. You’re not a brick that has been just quickly and, with little attention, slapped into the next spot in a wall. You are a living stone, uniquely and purposefully placed where you are because only you can fill that particular spot in the spiritually house He is constructing. You are vital in the layout and construction of the Kingdom He is to building here on the earth. When you’re not in place the integrity of the entire structure is compromised and not what He intends it to be. Allow Him to shape and place you where He needs you in His Kingdom. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
