Candidate for Texas Senate Kendall Scudder Hosting Sunday Funday at Backstory Brewery on Sunday August 19th

Games, snacks and brews await families at Backstory Brewing, on Sunday, August 19, from 2-4 pm, to celebrate The Texas Family Project’s endorsement of Kendall Scudder, Democratic nominee for Senate District 2.

Scudder was one of the first endorsements TFP made in the November 2018 election. Their endorsement reads, in part:

“Texas Family Project knows Kendall Scudder is the best candidate to support Texas public education. Kendall knows that we must ensure our schools and teachers are given the support and resources that they need to succeed. He will never, under any circumstance, support school vouchers, favors increased funding for schools and the Teacher Retirement System, opposes the A-F grading system, and believes we should increase access to high-speed internet. Kendall will oppose any efforts to cut school breakfasts or reinstate lunch shaming policies, as the incumbent has done.

Texas Family Project has confidence in Kendall’s support for the economic growth of Texas families. Too many rural communities in northeast Texas are struggling to keep the younger generation of leaders in their communities due to a lack of good paying jobs. Texas should seek out innovative ways to provide tax relief to local small business owners and embrace the clean energy industries of tomorrow.

Kendall Scudder believes Texas families deserve access to health care and Texas Family Project agrees. Texas has consistently been ranked one of the worst states in the country when it comes to health care access. We should be working with health care providers, insurance companies, and the federal government to ensure that every Texan has access to quality, affordable healthcare.”

“Thanks to the Texas Family Project for their endorsement!,” Scudder said. “They know I’m the best candidate to serve the families of NE Texas, fight for their rights in Austin, and support public education, economic development, and a healthy Texas for all of us.”
