Gavin Gilbert Sentenced to 55 Years in Prison for Murder of Local Teenager

Gavin Gilbert, 17, of Sulphur Springs, has been sentenced to 55 years in prison today. Gilbert was charged with one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the December 2017 murder of 18 year old Tyrese Pryor. The jury deliberated for less than an hour on Friday before turning in a guilty verdict. He will be eligible for parole in 27 and a half years.
