Our beloved,Betty Evans, has left us for a better life in heaven. She has beencalled to a place where her joy will never cease. Jesus also assured her there would be plenty of loved ones and friends there to greet her upon her arrival. Herdirective to all of us was to celebrate her long and joyous life. It is an awesome thing to have known someone so amazing.It hurts to lose her, but it is even more awesome to know she is now in heaven without her everyday pain and suffering.

Betty Claborn Evans, 83, of Sulphur Springs, Texas and previously of Levelland, Lubbock and Commerce, Texas, received her heavenly call home today,08-07-2018, after a lengthy illness. Betty was born on October 30, 1934 in Tahoka, Texas, to King Randolph and Wilma Lucille (Cashion) Claborn. Betty graduated from Lubbock Roosevelt HS, in 1951. She married Edward “Eddie”Evansafter her family relocated to Levelland in early 1952. She was a loving mother, homemaker and later she opened a Day Care in her home for babies and young kids up to their school age. She always fell in love with every child she cared for, with most calling her Aunt B, Grandma or Nana. An expert cook, she enjoyed cooking for her family at all holidays and special occasions, as well as passing down her famous family recipes to her children and grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her mother Lucille Claborn; dad King Claborn; husbandEdward “Eddie” Evans; sister-in-law Linda Claborn; brother-in-law Allen “Stu” Steward. She is survived by her son Samuel “Randy”Evans and his wife Ruth, daughterRenea EvansShook and her husband Jeff; five grandchildren, Kerry Rumbaugh and his wife Mendy, Kristie Rumbaugh Nicholson and her husband Shawn, Jason Evans and his wife Rachel, KasondraStubbs and Randi Evans Lanning and her husband Greg; fourteen great grandchildren and fourgreat, great grandchildren.Siblings; Bonita Claborn Humphreys and her husband Kenneth Dale, Juney Claborn Steward, Kenneth Claborn and his wife Denise,Don Claborn and his wife Francis; and many nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Betty’s Nephews; Teddy Steward, Ricky Steward, Brian Steward, Todd Albin, Kevin Claborn, Jeffery Claborn, Cory Claborn, and Dalton Steward.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 2018, beginning at 10 am prior to service, West Oaks Funeral Home, 500 Hillcrest Dr., Sulphur Springs, Texas 75483.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, atWest Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, 500 S. Hillcrest Dr., Sulphur Springs, Texas 75483.

Burial following the service will be in the Rosemond Cemetery, Commerce, Texas.
