Severed Rattlesnake Head Bites Corpus Christi Man and Almost Kills Him

A Corpus Christus man was bitten by a rattlesnake after the snake had its head cut off. The man cut the snakes head of with a shovel then bent over to pick it up and the head of the snake bit him. He experienced seizures, lost vision, and internal bleeding and had to be transported to the hospital by helicopter.
The man is now recovering after being treated with 26 doses of anti-venom. That’s 5-6 times the normal dosage. He is now in stable condition but is still experiencing weak kidney function.
