Funeral services for Betty Ann Brown, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earl Kernes officiating and Bro. Billy Sheets assisting. Interment will follow at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with Tanner Potts, Sergio Duenas, Larry Blann, Ricky Blann, Brandon Beyer, Richard Brown, Dakota Brown, and Jacob Glenn serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Betty passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Carriage House Manor. She was born on May 19, 1942 in Como, TX, the daughter of Douglas Warren Joiner and Ruby Jewell McDonald. She married Arthur Lee Brown III, on November 24, 1962 in Como, TX. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2014. She was a member of Greenpond Baptist Church. Betty volunteered at several hospitals, she was ward clerk in Sulphur Springs, Mt. Vernon, and Winnsboro. She was a chalk talk artist and played for many churches and singing groups through the years. She is survived by son, Richard L. Brown and wife Deeann Hoelscher, daughter, Joy Glenn and husband John, grandchildren, Dakota Brown and wife Nancy, Shilby Beyer and husband Brandon, Ashley Brown, Jessica Hoelscher, Macy Hoelscher, Jaci Glenn, Jayla Glenn, and Jacob Glenn, great-grandchildren, Peyton, Chandler, and Decklyn Beyer, and special friend, Bill Hendrix. In addition to her husband A.L., Betty is preceded in death by parents, step-father, who raised her, Buck Tillery, and infant daughter, Karen Ann Brown.
