From Sara Gibson, Candidate for Sulphur Springs City Council-Place 2:
I’m Sara Watts Gibson.
I am not a Sulphur Springs native, but I got here as quickly as I could. My parent Bill and Jo Watts, moved the family here in 1963 to make Sulphur Springs our home.
I am a 2nd generation citizen of Sulphur Springs, a 2nd generation business owner and when elected to the Sulphur Springs City Council,, I will have the honor of being a 2nd generation council person.
I was raised here in Sulphur Springs and found the love of my life here, Sulphur Springs native, Carey (Hoot) Gibson. We had and raised two sons here, Luke and Jake Gibson. For 36 years Carey and I lived here and loved it here until death parted us in October 2016.
My agenda is simple,, listen to the people, the majority of the people, not just a few. This campaign is being run to continue to target a great future for us all and the generations that follow us. I want to help maintain the amazing things that have been accomplished. Our sewer plant, the ground water situation we enjoy, the downtown revitalization. These are all things that will boost our future expansion. We must Focus on our Future!
I have been a Planning and Zoning commissioner and I served on the Downtown Revitalization Board when it first began….In my wildest imagination at the time, I would never have conceived such amazing things happening in the hub of our city today. We have spent many years developing Sulphur Springs in to a destination city for those coming for a visit or for a lifetime.
We as a city have done a lot but there is still much work to do. I will use my business knowledge and my work ethic to develop even more for the future. I am a creative thinker and I want to use that talent for the success of my hometown.
Please allow me, by your vote, to get in there and serve you as your next City Council person in Place 2.
Thank you so much, God Bless you and yours!
