Funeral service for Allene Humphrey, age 91, of Pickton, TX will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pickton, with Rev. Mike Hoover officiating and Rev. Mike Haunassisting. Interment will follow at New Pickton Cemetery with Paul Poarch, Brian Petraitis, J.D. Poarch and John Reed serving as pallbearers and Phillip Poarch serving as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Ms. Humphrey passed away on January 8, 2018 at her residence.
Allene Ruth Humphrey was born on December 7, 1926 in Dorchester, Texas, the daughter of Virgil and Edna (Haning) Cook. She married Dewey Lee Humphrey on March 11, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2013. Allene was a homemaker and member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Kile of Pickton, Patricia Poarch and husband, J.D. of Pickton, Danita Kay Petraitis and husband, Ed of Murfreeboro, TN; grandchildren, Phillip Poarch, Paul Poarch, Grace Kile, Hannah Kile, Brian Petraitis, Danielle Petraitis; great grandchildren, Grace Marks, Charlee Poarch, Liam Petraitis, Emma Petraitis; brother, Donald Cook; sister, Betty Gilbert; numerous nephew and nieces.
Allenewas preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Karen Roxanne Humphrey; sisters, Mary Hatton and Emma Lois Cook; brother, J.D. Cook; son-in-law, Michael Kile.
Memorials can be made to the New Pickton Cemetery Association.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
