A local 17 year old man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of another teenager yesterday evening. Gavin Heath Gilbert has been charged with one count of Murder and four counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. There was a disagreement and Gilbert fired at the vehicle occupied by the victim and four other individuals. Law enforcement officials have identified the victim as 18 year old Tyrese Pryor. Four shots were fired at the vehicle. Only Mr. Pryor was injured in the shooting. The vehicle was driven to Fire Station 20 to meet emergency services and Pryor was transported to the emergency room. Mr. Pryor was pronounced dead soon thereafter by Justice of the Peace BJ Teer.

An investigation identified Gilbert as the shooter and local law enforcement coordinated to arrest him at his residence on County Road 1185. Bond has been set for Gilbert at 2 million dollars on the murder charge and $500,000 for each Aggravated Assault charge for a total 4 million dollar bond.

Sheriff Tatum says that more details will be released as they get further along in the investigation.

Our prayers are with the family of the victim.
