Como-Pickton FFA Hosts First Annual Como-Pickton FFA Weldor’s Challenge

On Wednesday of this week Como-Pickton FFA hosted the 1st ever Como-Pickton FFA Weldor’s Challenge. The contest consisted of three rounds of welding, a knowledge test, tool and material ID, and an oxy-fuel cutting skill. Eight schools, including Como-Pickton, entered teams of three individuals to compete and represent their school. Schools participating were Saltillo, Sulphur Springs, Pittsburg, Winona, Rivercrest, Longview and Prairiland. The winners were:

Cutting Skill – Tyler Osborne, Como-Pickton
Tool & Material ID – Corey Brown, Saltillo
Knowledge Test – Tye Nick, Winona
Round 1 Welding – Manuel Moreno, Longview
Round 2 Welding – Manuel Moreno, Longview
Round 3 Welding – German Zelaya, Longview
Team Placings: 3rd – Como-Pickton
2nd – Prairiland
1st – Longview
Reserve Champion Weldor – Manuel Moreno, Longview
Grand Champion Wedlor – German Zelaya, Longview
