Meet the Directors of Heart of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center: Pat & Steve Phillips

From Heart of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center:
We’re so pleased to officially announce our new Heart of Hope Directors! Here’s a little about Pat & Steve Phillips and all they do for this organization! They have been married for 36 years. They have three children – a daughter, who teaches kindergarten in Arlington, a son who is a police officer in Commerce, and a son who is a firefighter/paramedic in Mesquite. They are also blessed with seven of the most wonderful grandchildren and a great-grandson on the way.
They have been involved in the planning of Heart of Hope from the very beginning planning for a Sulphur Springs pregnancy resource center. When the doors opened in June of 2012, Pat worked as a volunteer and Steve was on the Board of Directors.
They stepped into the position of co-directors on April 21, 2017.
As you can imagine, there is a lot that goes into the director roles for a pregnancy care center! They are the Office Managers and handle all of the agency accounting work. A huge task each year is planning and hosting the annual fundraising banquet.

In addition to these roles, they’re also involved with the clients on a personal level. Steve is the client advocate for male clients and teaches them from two daddy programs. Pat coordinators volunteers, schedules clients, and helps teach group classes.
Add in other odd jobs like Steve being “Mister Fix-it” around the office and in charge of critter control, and you’ll always see them busy with something!
What keeps them going is their hearts for Heart of Hope! Steve’s favorite part of being a director is knowing Heart of Hope is making a difference in the community by offering free assistance to those who need our services. As a people person, Pat loves working with their great team of volunteers and building relationships with their clients. She also loves spreading the word about Heart Of Hope with the community!
We are blessed to have them leading Heart Of Hope and are excited to see what the future will hold for them and our organization!
