Edith Ward Obituary

Funeral service for Edith Ward, age 83, of Greenville will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October, 4, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. Roger Ratliff officiating.  Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Donny Godfrey, Billy Joe Dorner, Ron Melton, Jerry Sandlin and Jim Weaver serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel.   Mrs. Ward passed away Sunday October 1, 2017, at her residence.

Edith Lynn Ward was born on June 13, 1934 in Sulphur Bluff, Texas to Carlos and Dessie (Pennington) Buster.  She married Frank Ward in Sulphur Bluff on March 26, 1950.  Frank preceded her in death on December 24, 2010.  Edith was owner and manager for Ward Lawn Enterprises, a member of Van Sickle Baptist Church, a loving wife and mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son Gregory Ward and wife, Shawna of Heath, TX; grandchildren, Jilleighann Perkins and husband, Garrett of Rockwall, Jordan Ward of Heath, TX; brother, Robbie Buster of Lubbock, TX;sisters-in-law, Hazel Brumley and Erma Hill as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother B.J. Buster.

The family would like to thank Texas Oncology, Vitas Hospice Care, Pat Gibson and everyone who helped with the care of Edith.
