Charles “Charlie” L. Evans, age 80, of Emory, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2017, at 3:00 PM, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory.  Bro. Perry Crisp will officiate. Interment will follow at Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery in Alba.

Charlie was born in Butler, on May 22, 1937, to John Wood and Ruth Elizabeth Traylor Evans.  He married Betty Jean Henry on July 11, 1955 in Ponca City, OK. They have been married 62 wonderful years and have 4 beautiful children. He was a directional drilling supervisor by trade.  He had a passion for building and was creative, inventive and hardworking.  He was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and felt closest to God when out on the lake at dawn.  Charlie always put his family first and was there with a helping hand and a heartwarming smile to all who needed it.

Survivors include:
Wife: Betty Evans of Emory;
3 Sons: Aaron Evans (Randa) of Aransas Pass; Al Evans of Anna; and Jay Evans (Patti) of Holly Lake Ranch;
1 Daughter: Tammy Evans of Kyle;
8 Grandchildren: Amy, Tamisha, Jack, Amber, Stephanie, Thomas, Danielle and Presli;
12 Great-grandchildren;
Numerous other loving family and friends
