Funeral service for Gloria Huddleston,age 80, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Spence Chapel, First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery with Bryson Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Trent Petty, Trey Petty, Angel Cabrera and Carlos Ruiz serving as pallbearers and Michael Huddleston serving as honorary pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Spence Chapel. Mrs. Huddleston, passed awayFriday, September 1, 2017, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.

 

Gloria Mae “MeMe” (Petty) Huddleston was born on January 26, 1937 in Pettit, Texas to Troy Otto and Eva Mae (Holmes) Petty.  She married William Thomas “W.T.” Huddleston on August 20, 1960, in Levelland, Texas.  Gloria was a retired teacher and a member of First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs.

 

She is survived by her husband, W.T.; daughter, Tracy Barnes and husband, Roger; grandchildren, Bryson and Brandon Barnes; twin brother, Olen Petty; nephews, Trent Petty, Trey Petty, Michael Huddleston, Terry Petty and Larry Petty; niece, Melanie Boyd; great niece, Angela Hall.

 

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sonia Eve Huddleston; brothers Gyn Petty and Troy Ira Petty.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
