Memorial services for Charles Wayne West, 78, of Como, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D.K. Young and Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Ford, Michael Conley, Ocie Fisher, John L. Robinson, Sr., Elmer Dial, Kenneth White, Horace Thomas, and Vincent Bozeman. Charles passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. He was born on January 1, 1939, in Leesburg, TX, the son of Jim and Velma Smart West. He was a member of Independent Hope Baptist Church. Charles worked as a mechanic for many years. He is survived by son, William “Fussy” West, granddaughter, Parker West, and sisters, Mozelle Ford and husband Lonnie of Como, TX, Nadene Bowser, of Newport News, VA, and Wanda Williams and husband Jim of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by parents, grandparents, Harry and Lillie Smart, sisters, Virginia White, De Loise Taylor, and Betty Richardson, and brothers, R.C. West, Wallace West, and John West.
