Funeral services for Cletius J. Brown, age 69, of Cumby will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, 17, 2017 at Miller Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Strickland officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with Gerald Burnett, Tony Colley, Eddie Price, John Whitehead, Dave Holsey, David Hatcher and Joe Mosher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Wayne Wilks. Cletius passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1948 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Earl Sterling Brown and Louise Watson Brown. He married Brenda Hatcher on May 28, 1977 in Hugo, OK. She survives. Cletius served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war and was later a professional truck driver. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Nicole Brown Stewart of Brashear, Allison Brown Mosher and husband Joe of Spring, TX, Anne Bowen and husband William of Stillwater, OK, sisters, Glenda Burnett and husband Gerald, Cathy Colley and husband Tony and Neena Price and husband Eddie all of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Van Matthew Mosher, Olivia Nicole Mosher, Miranda Eaton and Gracelynn Bowen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Earl Brown, Jr., sister, Sheena Parnell, and step-dad, Farrah “Buddy” Parnell.
