Graveside services for Jimmy Don Burns “Big Belly” will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Greenpond Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Johnston officiating. Pallbearers will be David Burns, Joe Burns, Tommy Sanders, Tommy Glenn, Roy King and Scotty Reed. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Jimmy Don passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at his residence. Jimmy Don was born on January 26, 1945 in Sulphur Springs the son of Floyd Burns and Myrtle Murphy Burns. He married Patti Baxley on July 7, 1989 in Sulphur Springs. She survives. Jimmy Don worked for TXU/Oncor for 32 years. He was a member of The First Baptist Church and The Tommy Glenn Bible Study Class. In addition to his wife Patti, he is survived by one daughter, Stacey Burns Eppars of Como, brothers, Gary Burns and wife Myra of Yantis, Denny Burns and wife Glenna of Como, sister, Phyllis Jan Campbell and husband Tommy of Como, grandchildren, Brandy Sharp, B.J. Sharp, Case Williams, Chancey Sharp, Raelynn Moore, and Lilly Scroggins. Memorials may be made to the Radio Bible Class at First Baptist Church, 116 Oak Ave, Sulphur Springs, TX, 75482 or to Greenpond Cemetery Association, c/o James Diamond, 1309 Azalea Lane, Sulphur Springs TX 75482.
