CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital-Sulphur Springs invited us to a Show and Tell about their partnership with Flight for Life today. The Fixed Wing Pilatus PC-12 aircraft is staffed by a team of pilots, nurses, and paramedics to provide critical care transport from hospital to hospital. The aircraft has an 1800 mile range and travels at a speed of 311 miles-per-hour. It can travel from Sulphur Springs to Tyler in 16 minutes! All of the equipment needed to treat patients is carried on board and one family member can travel with the patient during transport. These fixed wing aircrafts are also better for flying in adverse weather conditions than helicopters. Pretty neat!
