Saltillo Student Advances to State UIL and Saltillo Wins 10 Gold at State FCCLA

UIL – Michael Simmons got 2nd at Regional UIL in Headline Writing.  He will be competing in the State UIL Academic contest on Friday, April 21st.  We are very proud of him here at Saltillo ISD and he is very excited about going.

These students participated in the FCSA competition at the State FCCLA meeting in Dallas, Texas April 6-8.  The Saltillo FCCLA came home with 10 Gold – Brenda Castro, Lindsay Butler, Lorena Castro, Sienna Collins, Brianna Harvick, Rainie English, Selena Hernandez, BreAnna Reynolds, Madison Simmons and Christy Marquez; 5 Silver – Jocelyn Ochoa, Ana Gallegos, Hannah Wartenbee, Graycie Hodges and Caitlin Shelby; 2 Bronze – Melissa Tawil and Michael Clover.  This year we competed in Child Development, Interior Design, Consumer Math, Creed and Step One. I did have a few that stepped out of their comfort zone and compete in contest that we had not done before.  We had a great time in Dallas and I am very proud of these students for working hard on getting ready to compete.
