Como-Pickton One Act Play Advances to Bi-District

Como-Pickton High school One Act Play competed for District honors Thursday, March 9, at Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana against Winnsboro, Cooper, Chapel Hill, Chism, Prairiland, and Mt. Vernon. Advancing schools to Bi-District include Como-Pickton, Cooper, and Chapel Hill, with Mt. Vernon serving as alternate.

CPHS performed Beth Henley’s Crimes of the Heart. Individual awards winners from Como-Pickton include Jessica Mares for her role in the Technical Crew, Madison Jennings, who played Babe Botrelle was awarded All-Star Cast, and Hannah Anderson, who played Lenny Magrath earned the award of Best Actress for District 13-AAA.

Other cast performers include: Jake Anderson as Barnette Lloyd, Angela Baxley as Chick Boyle, Brynden Andrews as Doc Porter, and Samantha Gallo as Meg Magrath.

Other technicians include: Stage Manager, Xochitl Ramirez, Jackie Salazar, Makayla Teer, Vickie Murillo, with alternates Ronnie Walker and Presli Cummings, who also served as makeup artist. Mr. Bobby Mays is OAP director, as well as UIL Academic Co-Coordinator.

Bi-District competition will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at Pleasant Grove High School.
