6.4 Pounds of Meth Discovered in False Compartment on I-30

DPS officers discovered approximately 6.4 pounds of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment yesterday. It was located in a vehicle involved in an accident around the 116 EB mile marker on I-30. During the course of the investigation of the accident reasonable suspicion was developed. Consent to search the vehicle was granted and officers found a false aftermarket compartment located within the battery of the vehicle. Isak Carrillo of El Paso and Lizette Ibarra of Charlotte, North Carolina were both arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance over 400 grams. They are each being held on $75,000 bond.
