Former Wood County jail administrator David McGee is currently being held in Hopkins County for two new charges after a second arrest. The 40 year old has now been charged with permit facilitate escape from a correctional facility and tampering with a government document. Investigators recently discovered McGee had forged a document that allowed an inmate to be released. McGee had previously bonded out on two original charges of tampering with evidence.
Texas Rangers have been investigating McGee since allegations of inappropriate contact with a former inmate were made against him. McGee resigned his position with Wood County shortly after that. He is currently being held in Hopkins County jail on a $200,000 bond. The inmate has been arrested and charged with escape in Wood County.
