Youth Celebrate Freedom on Steps of
Hopkins County Courthouse, Thursday
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a bold statement of the freedoms we enjoy in America, from the steps of the Hopkins County Courthouse, on Thursday morning, as students at "His Kids" Day Care made an appearance, waving flags and proclaiming freedom. Students proudly waved their flags and offered a prayer of thanksgiving for the many, many freedoms that we enjoy, to mark the 234th Anniversary of our nation's birthday.
"We wanted to teach the children how important it is to be thankful for the freedoms that we enjoy," expressed one of the event organizers. "And, to let everyone join us in this celebration of just how fortunate we are to live in this country!"

Students arrived on the downtown square and marched to the steps of the Hopkins County Courthouse, where they waved American Flags, shouted freedom chants, and offered the prayer for freedom to continue in this country.
"We are so blessed to live in a country, where we can have free speech, express our views, and celebrate those very freedoms," explained one of the teachers at the local day care center. "It's certainly worth shouting about and we need to teach the youth of this country the great sacrifices that have been made to preserve the freedoms that we enjoy. We thought it was a great opportunity to teach our kids these lessons and to let them know that there was more to the July 4th holiday than fireworks, BBQ, and watermelons!"
Thursday morning's demonstration by the children attracted a crowd of local residents, as they made their way about business in downtown Sulphur Springs!
God Bless America,
This 4th of July Holiday!!!
Meanwhile, giant American and Texas flags had already been installed on the front of Alliance
Bank, in anticipation of Saturday night's Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Show, that
is scheduled to begin at 7:45 p.m.
