Yantis ISD Began New School Year
Monday Morning With Teacher Breakfast

Yantis ISD teachers were treated with a breakfast, to begin the new school year, Monday morning.

 

It's always painful to leave the carefree days of summer behind and begin the new school year, but teachers at the Yantis ISD were greeted on Monday morning with a teacher appreciation breakfast, attended by all teachers, administrators, and school board members, as they got ready for a successful 2009-2010 year.

 

 

Teachers and staff were greeted by Yantis ISD Superintendent Harold Cowley, and served a "hearty" breakfast, as they visited with board members, administrators, and staff. "It's just a great way to let the teachers know how much we appreciate their efforts and what an important role they play in the lives of our community," expressed Cowley. "The success of the school year depends on the teacher in the classroom, providing the motivation and the learning experiences that will be beneficial to the student, and we want everyone to know that they are part of that team for success!"

"It's an opportunity for all the teachers and especially the new teachers to learn who the board members are, and to know that we're interested in the school and the education of the children," expressed Tonya Norris, a new Yantis ISD Board Member. "I want them to know that I'm interested in the education of all the children and that I'm here to help in a positive way, to meet the educational goals of our community! And, getting to know the teachers is the best way to insure that we meet those needs!"

Teachers in the Yantis ISD enjoyed the interaction with members of the community and the breakfast that was provided, as they talked about the upcoming year and the many, many facets of the Yantis ISD School System. "It was a very nice way to begin the school year and a great way for everyone to get acquainted," allowed one veteran Yantis ISD teacher. "You learn who the new people are and hopefully will be able to help them get acquainted with the things that those of us who have been her for years take for granted!"

"We're all looking forward to a successful year of learning and making a positive impact in the greater Yantis community!" affirmed Cowley.
